London North Eastern Railway
Virgin Trains East Coast is a train operating company in the United Kingdom that operates the InterCity East Coast franchise on the East Coast Main Line between London, Yorkshire, the North East and Scotland. It commenced operations on 1 March 2015, taking over from East Coast. It is a joint venture between Stagecoach (90%), and Virgin Rail Group (10%).
VTEC offers 125mph services between Inverness and Aberdeen in the North of Scotland to London Kings Cross running via Edinburgh, Newcastle and York. VTEC also runs high speed trains from Skipton in North Yorkshire via Leeds and Doncaster to Kings Cross with its total route network covering 920 miles. VTEC’s services connect at other key stations along the East Coast main line such as Retford, Newark and Peterborough offering good onward connections.
